Christmas Celebrations

  The Marthoma campus was alive with Christmas spirit as students from all levels joined in the festivities. The day was filled with exciting events, including a star-making competition, a hilarious "Best Christmas Pappa" contest, and captivating performances by the High School and Lower Primary students. Each class added its own unique touch to the celebration, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. The day culminated in a joyful dance performance, bringing the entire school together in a shared celebration of the holiday season.

Class about menstruation

  Dr. Sulekha (Consultant Gynaecologist Aswini Hospital, Thrissur) recently conducted a valuable class on menstruation for the UP students of Marthoma School. This initiative, hosted by Red FM, aimed to educate and empower young girls about this natural bodily process. The class provided crucial information about menstrual hygiene, health, and dispelled common myths surrounding menstruation.

Sports Day

  On November 29, 2024, the Mannuthy Agricultural University ground buzzed with excitement as Marthoma Girls High School held its annual sports meet. The event began at 10:30 AM with a welcome speech by Principal Leena Thomas and was inaugurated by Higher Secondary Principal Rince P Sebastian. Students from four houses – Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow – competed in events like the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m races, 4x100m relay, and shot put. The Green House won with their excellent performance. The event celebrated teamwork and sportsmanship, promoting an active lifestyle and leaving lasting memories of joy and achievement for everyone.

Childrens' Day

  Children's Day at Marthoma School was a day filled with laughter, excitement, and vibrant energy! The celebrations kicked off with a lively rally that snaked its way through the streets, starting from Swaraj Round at 9:00. Students from various schools of Thrissur participated in it.  The sight was truly mesmerizing! Students from all grades marched with enthusiasm, their colorful costumes and spirited cheers filling the air. The rally was a kaleidoscope of sounds and colors, a testament to the vibrant spirit of childhood.

Health education Programme by Jubilee Mission Nursing College

Jubilee Mission Nursing College, Thrissur, organized a health checkup and exhibition for Marthoma Girls HSS. The event included screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and vision, along with booths on healthy eating, exercise, mental health, and hygiene. A drug awareness session educated students on resisting peer pressure. The initiative aimed to promote well-being and informed health choices among teachers and students.                  

Youth Festival

Marthoma Girls HSS Thrissur hosted its annual Youth Festival on October 9th and 10th, celebrating the talents of its students. The event was inaugurated by Headmistress Mrs. Leena Thomas at 10:00 AM. On Day 1, students impressed everyone with their musical skills in Light Music and Mappila Pattu competitions, along with engaging Mono Acts and beautiful Folk Dances. Day 2 featured group events like Nadan Pattu, Mime, Oppana, and Group Dances, showcasing teamwork and creativity. After two exciting days, the Red House won the championship, followed by Yellow House in second place and Blue House in third.

School Exhibition

  School Exhibition Marthoma Girls Higher Secondary School hosted a two-day school exhibition on September 26th and 27th, 2024. The event showcased the creative and innovative projects of students across various subjects. Day one focused on Social Science, featuring still and working models on topics like the Solar System, the Earth’s layers, and the water cycle. Day two was dedicated to Science and Mathematics, with captivating displays of plant parts, the human body, and intriguing mathematical concepts. Students presented their projects with confidence and enthusiasm, demonstrating a deep understanding of the subjects. The exhibition was a resounding success, providing a valuable learning experience for both students and teachers.

Onam Celebrations

On September 13th, 2024,Marthoma Girls Higher Secondary School celebrated Onam with great excitement and joy. The school was decorated with beautiful pookalams (flower designs) made by students in every classroom, creating a colorful and festive atmosphere. The day was filled with fun games and competitions like the Spoon Race, Chair Game, Balloon Burst, and Tug-of-War. Students from both upper and higher secondary sections joined in with lots of energy and team spirit. Teachers also took part in the Chair Game, making everyone laugh and adding to the fun. The event was a perfect blend of tradition, teamwork, and happiness.

Election

   Marthoma Girls HS Thrissur took a big step towards promoting student democracy by holding its School Parliament Elections online using Google Forms. This modern method made voting easy and encouraged more students to take part.  All students participated actively, enjoying their right to vote and feeling equal and included in the process. This experience empowered them to contribute to shaping their school environment. In the elections, B. Sarah of Standard 10 was chosen as the School Leader, and Vaiga of Standard 10 was elected as the Assistant School Leader.
